Go Hailey Go!

Last Saturday we went & watched my 7 year-old niece, Hailey, play basketball. It was quite entertaining & gave me flashbacks to some of our first basketball games. Hailey's team chalked up another victory (they are undefeated). Dylan had a lot of fun. She cheered for Hailey a lot!! "Go Hailey Go, Go Hailey Go" --arms bending & straightening in front of her as she cheered...It was very cute. (I would've gotten it on video or taken more pictures of the game, but my battery was a hair away from being dead...what kind of blogger am I?? PATHETIC!!) As much as Dylan enjoyed the game, it was obvious she didn't enjoy it near as much as she & Bennett enjoyed the concession stand. My dad, Poppy, took them once & their great-grandmother, Memaw, took them 2 more times!! Can you say SPOILED....? The game didn't even last an hour, so the sugar to minute ratio must have been out of this world!!! OH WELL....FUN TIMES!!

Unfit Mother...

ATTENTION ALL EXPERIENCED MOTHERS:

How do you prevent little girls from getting blisters &/or soars on their little feet from new shoes or shoes without socks? Is there a secret?? Or do we just have to tough it out for fashion's sake? Dylan appreciates a cute shoe, so she will endure whatever just to look A-dorable, but when bath time rolls around, it's pain & agony! It breaks my heart & makes me (just for a split second) want to let her wear her Nike Shox & ankle socks with everything!

PLEASE HELP US!!

"FREAKING STUNNING"

I was so excited today when I listened to a voicemail from Heather... Our dog portraits have been painted & Leigh Ann emailed us a sneak peek!! I couldn't get to it fast enough!! And as Heather put it, "OMG, Meatball's picture is freaking STUNNING". LOL, for those of you who know Heather, I'm sure you can hear her saying that...too funny! :) Both of our paintings turned out very well, I think. Brother's portrait looks just like his picture. It's amazing!! I CANNOT WAIT to have Meatball's picture in my posession & placed nicely in the fabulous & stylish oversized frame I also ordered. Of course I will post it for you.....no worries! :)

Don't you just love it? I would like to give a BIG shout out to our friends in Asia who whipped this up for me. You have no idea how much I love, love, love it (especially since our furry friend had a near death experience last week--he's on still a bit gimpy but on the road to recovery).


Don't forget that you ALSO can turn a precious pic into a fabulous painting. Heather & I are co-hosting a party on Friday April 17th. It doesn't have to be of an animal...it can be of ANYTHING! Any picture you love, print it off & bring it & they can make it happen. You know those super, duper precious Monkey pictures they sell at the Now & Then Shoppe? She had some of these on demo & they look just the same (1/2 the price---shhh, don't tell Joan. I heart her)! I think Leigh Ann is going to have some painted & ready to sell that night!! Seriously, you don't want to miss it!! I might need one of those myself...

Mika Beth posted the rest of the Matilda Jane pictures on her blog....CHECK THEM OUT! They are so precious! MB is giving us a free 8x12 picture for being her one of her "models", but I can't decide which one I want (of course, I'm sure I will have to order several)....any suggestions? Also, did you watch that crap on the Bachelor last night?!? What is up with that? I read on someone's Facebook that "the rumor in Dallas is that Molly is PREGNANT!!!" Who knows if it's true, but at this point, I wouldn't be surprised at anything. Poor Melissa! I am SOOOO over Jason.... And when I was drifting off to sleep, I swear I heard them say that there is a Part 2: After the Final Rose tonight? Did anyone else hear that? Maybe it was a bad dream, considering I am SO done with him! I mean, if it's on, I'll have to watch it, but I won't be happy about it..... :)

About a month ago, Mika Beth asked me if she could use Dylan in ANOTHER photo shoot! Of course, I was beyond honored & excited!! Mika Beth was doing a shoot for the Anticipation Line for Matilda Jane Clothing. It was a TOP SECRET & we were sworn to secrecy until today!! Yay! Some of the pictures got posted on the MJC website last night, so the cat's out of the bag... Here are the pictures of Dylan that have made the website. If any more surface, you know I will post them... :) Mika Beth said she will be posting some on her blog too, so keep your eyes peeled for those. The clothes & the pictures are just darling.... You will see Ms. Dylan sporting A LOT of Matilda Jane this spring & summer! I can't wait!!

BUNCO NIGHT!!

Friday night was BUNCO NIGHT! It was SO much fun. Jenny Coonce was the host this month. She had a Mardi Gras theme & went all out...masks, beads, Hurricane Punch (yumm-O), & dirty rice. It was the next best thing to sitting on Bourbon street--I'm sure of it! Thanks Jenny for a great time with great friends....& also for sending home some masks & beads for Dylan. She loved them----Meatball, not so much! :) And a big thanks to Mary for being a last minute "sub". I'm happy to say that she is hooked & is going to be a permanent fixture in our bunco group. YAY MARY!

On the road to Recovery....

I took off yesterday afternoon & took Meatball to the vet. When I left for work Thursday morning, HE WAS PITIFUL!! It took a lot of time to get him to stand up, much less walk. It made me so sad. When I got home, I was pleased to see him laying on a different piece of furniture than when I left... He had obviously been a little mo-BILE! ;)
He seemed in much better spirits than he did at 6 a.m. (who wouldn't be??). He was SO HAPPY to see me!! He didn't bark constantly & act a fool like he normally does, but he was wagging like crazy & following me around a little. He was still hobbling on 3 legs & I had to pick him up & carry him to the car, but he was excited to go! He tried his normal 'hanging out of the window' routine, but it was too hard for him to balance on 1 leg! So instead, he sat up big & tall with his bad leg stuck straight out. It cracked me up! When we pulled up at Dr. Rick's, it was almost like he turned into a different dog. He got out of the car on his own & walked on his bad leg....Seriously, why do my children do this to me when I take them to the doctor?!? VERY FRUSTRATING! Rick said it's the adrenaline that makes them forget they're injured. We got in immediately (probably because Meatball sits there & cries & whines like a little baby). Dr. Rick checked him out & said he is still very swollen on his leg, but he didn't feel any displacements of the bone. YAY! Worse case= a greenstick fracture, but even if that's the case, it will heal up just fine. His "hole" in his leg looked much better today, & his other cuts & scrapes were much better. Rick sent us home with some pain medicine & an antiobiotic, so hopefully in 7 days, MEAT will be good as new! And of course, as soon as we walked out of the clinic, he started walking on 3 legs & I had to pick him up & put him in the car again...........

A NEAR TRAGEDY...

We had a near tragedy today....Ryan took Meatball to the farm this afternoon. They went to look for something one of the hunters had left behind & fill the feeders, etc. Anyway, I'm a little unsure of the specifics, but somehow, my precious little Meatball got ran over by the Polaris.... YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT. RYAN RAN OVER MEATBALL --DYLAN'S BUBBA, BUBBA BOO!! It scared Ryan to death. He said Meat was pinned underneath. He thought he killed him, but luckily he was wrong. I think he's going to be ok. He's only walking on 3 legs & he has a HOLE in the back of his leg, several cuts & some road rash. I have to admit, the 'hole' is a bit disturbing!! It's the size of a dime & it's pretty DEEP! All bones seem intact though, so that's wonderful! But as soon as I saw the little buddy looking so miserable, hobbling along, I got on the phone with our friend & vet's wife, Amy. I was going to take him in if Rick was working, but he was off this afternoon, so she told me to call him on his cell. I got ahold of him & he made me feel much better. THANK YOU DR. RICK HITTNER & AMY (Rick, you deserve a little advertisement for dealing with more of our doggy drama...sorry!!) I also sent Rick pics of the hole via cellphone. LOL Because of us, he probably hates taking care of his friends animals!! He couldn't tell too much from the photo, but he said he thinks it would be best to leave it "open". Hopefully tomorrow he will show signs of improvement. If not, we will be heading out to see Dr. Rick ASAP! I will keep you posted on his condition, but out of respect for his privacy, we have decided not to post pictures. It's just too much for him to handle right now.... I'm sure you all understand.

Tulsa Time (Target Time)!

We went to Tulsa this weekend to stay with Grammy & G-daddy, my mom & step-dad. We had a great time. We ran around & shopped all day on Saturday. I am wanting to update my house a little. I haven't done ANYthing since Dylan's been born, seriously! We will soon be getting new counter tops & kitchen flooring....YAY!! 1960 called & wants it's linoleum back!! LOL I am wanting some window treatments for my kitchen so mom & I shopped & shopped for fabric. I'm still not really sure what I want, so she still has a little time before she needs to bust out the ole sewing machine, but let me tell you, I am obsessed with it right now!! Colors, counter tops, tile, OH MY!! And yes, this is all working against BUDGET 2009...... :) Oh well, we're not doing anything extreme or over the top so it shouldn't be too big of a set back!

Where was I before I was trying to justify going against my budget....Oh yes! Have I told you lately HOW MUCH I LOVE TARGET?? Dylan is even obsessed with going to Target. She loves it. She even told Paula that we were going to have her next birthday party at....you guessed it, TARGET!! Not only do we FREQUENT FS Target, we also hit up Tulsa Target every time we're there! You never know what they might have that we don't.... I mean, I know we all have the love, but she (Target) has been really good to me this past week. I bought 2 new area rugs for my house which I love. I'm not really sure why I haven't ever been "into" rugs (I think it was Meatball's fault), but boy was I stupid. They really warm things up so much! LOVE THEM!!! And last but not least, THE HOUDINI, my beloved new corkscrew. I mentioned to my mom how much I HATED my corkscrew. I mean it is IM-possible to work so she pointed me in the direction of the Houdini....It's a more affordable version of her Sharper Image corkscrew & I love, love, love it!! It might be the best $30.00 I've spent lately....yes, yes, I think it was! From my purple teeth to yours, CHEERS & good night!! :)

~Dylan's Dinner Date~

On Friday night, we went to eat with Josh, Mary, Braxton & Katie Womack. We had to get the little lovebirds together to celebrate Valentine's Day. I know I have said this on every post of these 2, but they are just SO darn cute together!! Dylan gave Braxton a picture valentine & a "Puppy Love" book (she picked it out) & Brax bought Dylan a HALLMARK card (how cute is that) & a singing dalmatian (or as Dylan says--"firedog"). He picked that out as well & she LOVES it. When we were finished eating, we went to Josh's house, so the kids could play & hang out. It was a lot of fun. Josh got them on video... We will show them the footage on their first official date (when Dylan is 20)!!
