I took off yesterday afternoon & took Meatball to the vet. When I left for work Thursday morning, HE WAS PITIFUL!! It took a lot of time to get him to stand up, much less walk. It made me so sad. When I got home, I was pleased to see him laying on a different piece of furniture than when I left... He had obviously been a little mo-BILE! ;)
He seemed in much better spirits than he did at 6 a.m. (who wouldn't be??). He was SO HAPPY to see me!! He didn't bark constantly & act a fool like he normally does, but he was wagging like crazy & following me around a little. He was still hobbling on 3 legs & I had to pick him up & carry him to the car, but he was excited to go! He tried his normal 'hanging out of the window' routine, but it was too hard for him to balance on 1 leg! So instead, he sat up big & tall with his bad leg stuck straight out. It cracked me up! When we pulled up at Dr. Rick's, it was almost like he turned into a different dog. He got out of the car on his own & walked on his bad leg....Seriously, why do my children do this to me when I take them to the doctor?!? VERY FRUSTRATING! Rick said it's the adrenaline that makes them forget they're injured. We got in immediately (probably because Meatball sits there & cries & whines like a little baby). Dr. Rick checked him out & said he is still very swollen on his leg, but he didn't feel any displacements of the bone. YAY! Worse case= a greenstick fracture, but even if that's the case, it will heal up just fine. His "hole" in his leg looked much better today, & his other cuts & scrapes were much better. Rick sent us home with some pain medicine & an antiobiotic, so hopefully in 7 days, MEAT will be good as new! And of course, as soon as we walked out of the clinic, he started walking on 3 legs & I had to pick him up & put him in the car again...........

A NEAR TRAGEDY...

We had a near tragedy today....Ryan took Meatball to the farm this afternoon. They went to look for something one of the hunters had left behind & fill the feeders, etc. Anyway, I'm a little unsure of the specifics, but somehow, my precious little Meatball got ran over by the Polaris.... YES, YOU HEARD ME RIGHT. RYAN RAN OVER MEATBALL --DYLAN'S BUBBA, BUBBA BOO!! It scared Ryan to death. He said Meat was pinned underneath. He thought he killed him, but luckily he was wrong. I think he's going to be ok. He's only walking on 3 legs & he has a HOLE in the back of his leg, several cuts & some road rash. I have to admit, the 'hole' is a bit disturbing!! It's the size of a dime & it's pretty DEEP! All bones seem intact though, so that's wonderful! But as soon as I saw the little buddy looking so miserable, hobbling along, I got on the phone with our friend & vet's wife, Amy. I was going to take him in if Rick was working, but he was off this afternoon, so she told me to call him on his cell. I got ahold of him & he made me feel much better. THANK YOU DR. RICK HITTNER & AMY (Rick, you deserve a little advertisement for dealing with more of our doggy drama...sorry!!) I also sent Rick pics of the hole via cellphone. LOL Because of us, he probably hates taking care of his friends animals!! He couldn't tell too much from the photo, but he said he thinks it would be best to leave it "open". Hopefully tomorrow he will show signs of improvement. If not, we will be heading out to see Dr. Rick ASAP! I will keep you posted on his condition, but out of respect for his privacy, we have decided not to post pictures. It's just too much for him to handle right now.... I'm sure you all understand.

Tulsa Time (Target Time)!

We went to Tulsa this weekend to stay with Grammy & G-daddy, my mom & step-dad. We had a great time. We ran around & shopped all day on Saturday. I am wanting to update my house a little. I haven't done ANYthing since Dylan's been born, seriously! We will soon be getting new counter tops & kitchen flooring....YAY!! 1960 called & wants it's linoleum back!! LOL I am wanting some window treatments for my kitchen so mom & I shopped & shopped for fabric. I'm still not really sure what I want, so she still has a little time before she needs to bust out the ole sewing machine, but let me tell you, I am obsessed with it right now!! Colors, counter tops, tile, OH MY!! And yes, this is all working against BUDGET 2009...... :) Oh well, we're not doing anything extreme or over the top so it shouldn't be too big of a set back!

Where was I before I was trying to justify going against my budget....Oh yes! Have I told you lately HOW MUCH I LOVE TARGET?? Dylan is even obsessed with going to Target. She loves it. She even told Paula that we were going to have her next birthday party at....you guessed it, TARGET!! Not only do we FREQUENT FS Target, we also hit up Tulsa Target every time we're there! You never know what they might have that we don't.... I mean, I know we all have the love, but she (Target) has been really good to me this past week. I bought 2 new area rugs for my house which I love. I'm not really sure why I haven't ever been "into" rugs (I think it was Meatball's fault), but boy was I stupid. They really warm things up so much! LOVE THEM!!! And last but not least, THE HOUDINI, my beloved new corkscrew. I mentioned to my mom how much I HATED my corkscrew. I mean it is IM-possible to work so she pointed me in the direction of the Houdini....It's a more affordable version of her Sharper Image corkscrew & I love, love, love it!! It might be the best $30.00 I've spent lately....yes, yes, I think it was! From my purple teeth to yours, CHEERS & good night!! :)

~Dylan's Dinner Date~

On Friday night, we went to eat with Josh, Mary, Braxton & Katie Womack. We had to get the little lovebirds together to celebrate Valentine's Day. I know I have said this on every post of these 2, but they are just SO darn cute together!! Dylan gave Braxton a picture valentine & a "Puppy Love" book (she picked it out) & Brax bought Dylan a HALLMARK card (how cute is that) & a singing dalmatian (or as Dylan says--"firedog"). He picked that out as well & she LOVES it. When we were finished eating, we went to Josh's house, so the kids could play & hang out. It was a lot of fun. Josh got them on video... We will show them the footage on their first official date (when Dylan is 20)!!

Happy Valentines Day!!

Happy Valentine's Day!! I hope everyone had a fabulous day & got to spend it with the one(s) you love....After the wedding, we spent the day around the house. We did A LOT of housework & let Dylan play outside all afternoon. We topped off the evening by ordering pizza for our Valentine's dinner. Dylan was very proud of the heart shaped pizza. How much fun is that?!? And it was SOOOO good. If you order online at Papa John's, you have the option to pick "well done". Who knew?? It was so thin & crispy...mmm mmm good!

I took Dylan in for another haircut yesterday. Katie cut about 2 inches off, although I really wish I would've had her cut a little more.... Oh well! Before she cut it, she had to straighten it. I thought her hair looked really cute straight. I haven't seen Dylan without her curls since right after she turned 1! When we were finished, we went to the mall to play & eat pizza (of course we had to sit at the little table).

I love this age SO MUCH. We have so much fun together...& she's still so darn sweet (most of the time). At least once a week, out of the blue she will say, " Mommy, can we go to Target today? It's only our favorite store..." I LOVE IT!! :) A mother's dream come true (for now)........

Heather's picture of Brother is a very tough act to follow, but here goes........ MEATBALL RAINS posing it up for his 'soon to be' painted portrait. Mika Beth worked her magic on Brother's picture & it shows. IT IS PRECIOUS! But for an amateur like myself, this will have to do. (And yes, I realize there is a shadow on his chest. It's permanent! Regardless of where I was or where he was, it was always there. I give up! Darn snout!)

I'm actually kind of proud of my picture. It took a long time & a lot of cheese to produce such a high quality Olan Mills(ish) type of photograph. MEATBALL is working the camera, looking "fierce". Maybe if the whole Radiology thing doesn't work out, I will take up PET photography. I think I might have a gift.... If anyone wants to book a shoot for your furry friend, have your people get in touch with my people. We'll work something out!

It doesn't have to be a dog.... :) I also ordered a fabulous black wooden frame to adorn his precious picture. Can't wait! My next mission is to surf the net & find something fabulous so I can have it painted for my kitchen. I mean, I'm going to think something up on my own & not break any copyright laws.... hee hee hee

So, how can this be, you ask? One of us should be at home writing a lil diddy to entertain you all, but instead we opted to spend a little QT at Lesli's fabulous house. She & Rachel hosted a little party tonight. It was an oil-painting party by my friend, Leigh Ann McKee (what a surprise that was). You take your favorite photo, & they will send it off to be painted for a very reasonable price. And the frames....AMAZING! Oversized, distressed wooden frames at (once again) an extremely reasonable price. I can't wait until my order comes in. No worries, people! You'll get to see it. I will show it off on my blog. (Hint-it might be a pic of our favorite 4-legged friend).
I L-O-V-E dog portraits & I L-O-V-E Meatball! I owe HK a big thank you for suggesting having Meatball's picture done. She is having Brother's portrait done...well that is if his retakes went well. Heather & I decided that we are going to co-host a party. It will probably be in late April so start saving your money. You don't want to miss out!! :)

Road Trip!

Dylan stayed with Noni & Rudy on Friday night so we decided to go out. I have been wanting to go eat at Weidekehr's in Altus for a long time, so I figured it was now or never. Katie & Pete came along & we had a GREAT TIME! We drove Pete's beloved, the VW Bus...I know this probably doesn't sound like fun to most. In fact, Ryan didn't want to go if we had to drive the bus. He said he wasn't opposed to taking the bus around town, but since we all had nice vehicles with leather seats & XM Radio, he just didn't get why we would take it out of town. I agreed, but we didn't have the heart to say anything to Pete. He is SO proud of his bus!! Despite what we thought, we took the bus & had a great time! Pete was the D.D. & we listened to some great party music. The only complaint...the bus only goes 55mph. If I would've known that, I would have made a later reservation!! Regardless, it was such a fun night! The food was delicious (the filet ROCKS), the company was great, the wine was tasty & the bus was slow, I mean fun!

Since the weather was so nice this afternoon, Dylan & I decided to play outside. It was so wonderful to feel the sun! After last week, I am SOOO done with winter!! We played in the sand table, blew lots of bubbles, & Dylan got to drive her truck & ride her scooter. It was a lot of fun & therapeutic for mommy as well.

I was impressed at how much her coordination had improved since the last time she rode her scooter. I'm not convinced that she hasn't been sneaking out the doggy door to practice! It wouldn't be the first time..... :)

"THAI" am excited!

I am SO EXCITED! I have an appointment for a Thai Massage at 7:30 tonight!! If you haven't experienced this magic, you should. It is fab-U-lous! In addition to this massage, the masseuse I L-O-V-E at Marvin Altman, is also offering a special....you can add on a Spa Treatment for your hands or feet for $5.00. WHY NOT, RIGHT?!? A girl needs to be pampered every now & then...& the good news is that I have a gift certificate. YAY FOR THE BUDGET !! OH & Heather, I will call you later to set up a time to pick up my prize... ;) Wishful Thinking never hurts! tee hee hee

OUR WEEKEND AWAY...

This weekend, Ryan & his male cousins headed to the White River for the annual "Nephew Trip" with Ron Dee at he & Katie's cabin. Dylan & I were ready to get out of town so we jumped at the opportunity. The original plan was to drive to dad & Christy's in Muskogee on Friday night & then get up Saturday morning & head to Fayetteville to stay with Rachel. Unfortunately Rachel wasn't feeling well, so we didn't make it to Fayetteville. We were very disappointed, but it all worked out. We stayed an extra night in Muskogee!

Since we had planned on leaving early Saturday, my dad had agreed to play golf....IN DALLAS! Yes, a 10:30 tee time, IN DALLAS. You think they're serious golfers?!? Anyway, Dylan, Christy, & I decided to head to Tulsa for the day. It was so much fun!! It was such a perfect day to be out & about. We went to Target, Hobby Lobby, & to Woodland Hills Mall for a bit. But the most important stop was at one of my FAVORITE restaurants...CARRABA'S! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT! If that wasn't enough, we also drove through Krispy Kreme! It was Dylan's idea!! Well, kind of Dylan's idea... You see, Mimi ran into Lowe's & Dylan had a mini-meltdown wanting to go in with her, so I promised her a doughnut if she would be good. (It's in the Lowe's parking lot right in front of my face. It wasn't premeditated! Boy it was delicious though!) After that, we headed back to Muskogee. Dylan could not wait to try on her new Target bathing suit. She loved it SO much, she refused to take it off....for 2 hours!! We spent the rest of the evening laying low, watching the dog show, sipping a little wine & just spending quality time. It was such a great weekend. Thank you so much for having us. IT WAS EXACTLY WHAT WE (I) NEEDED!!

Rachel, we want to come see you so when you get to feeling better, pencil us in.... It won't be long before baby Alex will be here!!
