I'm inspired....Dad, you're going to be proud!

After work on Thursday, I was home alone & not feeling well, so I laid down on the couch & turned on the t.v. It was 4:00, so Oprah it was! I was actually hoping to doze off before Ryan & Dylan got home, but I got sucked in fast. Suze Orman was on promoting her new book & giving her financial advice. I have heard her speak before & have actually found her a little annoying & pretty harsh, but this time, I was listening. She started off by saying that "2009 will either MAKE you or BREAK you financially". O.M.G.!!! My heart began to race & my ears were peeled. What does she know? What do I need to do? I want to be "made".... I listened very hard & learned a lot. Let me tell you, my wheels have not stopped turning since Thursday. I haven't actually sat down to make my "wants" & "needs" list yet, but I am declaring here & now that I am going to become much more frugal in 2009. For those of you snickering as you read this because you know how much I love nice things, here's the proof... I'm getting rid of my cleaning lady (tear, sniffle, tear). I really enjoy this weekly luxury, BUT she is a "want" & it's a sacrifice I'm willing to make. The economy is very scary to me & I want to work hard to give us the upper hand just in case something happens....God forbid. Sparks just told us last week that no one will receive a pay raise for the entire year of 2009. Under normal circumstances, this would be very bad news, but no one in my department is too disappointed. We are all just happy to have jobs!!

Since that episode of Oprah, I have been telling all of my friends about the things she said & I wanted to share it with my loyal blog readers (I gotta look out for my peeps). Suze Orman's new book, Action Plan, comes out this week & I'm going to read it. This is huge for me because the only thing I read on a regular basis is US Weekly, but I want to keep this fire burning. I've been budgeting all weekend, & I have a plan....2009 is going to "make" us!! :) This week only, you can go to Oprah.com & download Suze's new book FOR FREE!! She wants to help us!

(SOOOOO, What are you waiting on?? Just pick up the phone. It's that easy!! LOL
Even on a budget, I got jokes!)
